The First Drivers to Optimize POI for Straighter Miss-Hits

Until now, most manufacturers have relied on MOI as the primary measurement for stability and forgiveness. Cobra is the first to highlight and optimize a lesser-known but critical metric called POI (Point of Inertia).

POI measures how the clubhead rotates across all three axes during off-center impacts: horizontal (MOI Y), vertical (MOI X), and toe-up or toe-down (MOI Z). OPTM drivers are the first to optimize both MOI and POI through advanced shaping and strategic weight placement, dramatically reducing gear effect and delivering up to 23% tighter dispersion for longer, straighter mishits.

OPTM LS Improvements vs. Last Generation

By optimizing POI within a compact, tour-inspired head shape, the OPTM LS driver is both more forgiving and more accurate than the previous-generation DS-ADAPT LS.

Using supercomputing and A.I.-driven design methods, Cobra engineers achieved a rare balance of speed and accuracy by significantly reducing POI. The result is a noticeable reduction in side spin on off-center hits, producing drives that start straighter and finish closer to the intended target line.

Reshaped for Forgiveness

To optimize both MOI and POI, mass is distributed more symmetrically around the center of gravity and across all three key axes. Weight is also tightened closer to the CG to minimize diagonal resistance to rotation during impact.

Through A.I.-powered simulation tools, Cobra engineers analyzed millions of impact locations to gain a deep understanding of gear effect and determine the optimal placement of internal mass and adjustable weights in each driver model.

FutureFit33™ Adjustable Hosel

FutureFit33™ offers 33 unique loft and lie combinations to fine-tune ball flight, reduce miss tendencies, and maximize distance. Loft and lie can be adjusted by ±2 degrees in any direction for ultimate fitting precision.

Cobra’s innovative SMARTPAD® technology keeps the face angle square at address, regardless of the selected hosel setting.

Adjustable Weighting

The OPTM LS driver features an advanced descending weight system with three adjustable weights (11g, 7g, and 3g). Each weight can be positioned in the back for neutral flight, the heel for draw bias, or the toe for fade bias—allowing precise control over trajectory and shot shape.

H.O.T. Face Technology

A forged face insert powered by H.O.T. Face Technology enhances face flex to generate faster ball speeds and more consistent distance across a larger portion of the face, including off-center strikes.
