The PING i540 irons combine advanced performance technology with a compact, player-preferred shape. Designed for golfers who want increased speed, greater distance, and improved stopping power on the greens, the i540 delivers powerful performance while maintaining a clean, confident look at address.

Three major advancements separate the i540 from its predecessor, the i530. The most notable update is the addition of tungsten weighting along the sole of the 4 through 7 irons. This enhancement was made possible by a lighter, shallower face design that frees up weight and allows it to be strategically repositioned lower in the head. The lowered center of gravity promotes faster ball speeds and a higher launch, helping longer irons land softer with increased stopping power.

Another key improvement is the forged, variable-thickness maraging-steel face, which is now 9% thinner than before. A thinner face increases flexibility at impact, creating metalwood-like face deflection that produces faster ball speeds, longer distance, and a higher peak trajectory.

The i540 also introduces PING’s patent-pending inR-Air technology. This innovative design places an internal airbag behind the face to enhance sound and feel at impact without limiting face flex. The insert material was carefully engineered and extensively tested to maintain consistent pressurization and performance in a wide range of playing conditions and elevations.
